So, here's the thing: I don't Tweet or use Facebook or any other social media. This is essentially my only online outlet and I never really use it (because I'm a lazy bitca) unless there's fic (which I haven't written since Betty White was fertile... see above reference to laziness).

Currently, my life consists of working (Hey! I won two awards for my articles last year!), running (I spend an embarrassing percentage of my salary on running shoes and gear; Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10 and K-Swiss Tubes are great, BTW), and trying to keep my beloved motorcycle from dying on me (They aren't making any more Buell M2 Cyclones, or ANY MORE Buells, for that matter. Fuck you, Harley Davidson!).

I'm also trying to wean myself off of parenthetical statements. I am failing.

I wish I had a fandom to write about, but nothing is tickling my imagination these days. Dollhouse failed, V is terrible, I'm totally sick of Lost, and I guess I'm just too damned old to fall for Legend of the Seeker. I've even considered Damages fic, but I can't make it happen.

I would try Fringe, but I ship Olivia/Peter so hard it hurts. Literally. My SO laughed at me for tearing up at the end of the "Jacksonville" episode. What a dick. Also, I keep hearing OK Go's "Invincible" when Olivia goes all Cortexiphan superhero. I love that show!

Back to my point. No fic. Work. Running. Doling out cash to thieving mechanics. I'm hoping this will change at some point during the year, but I won't be holding my breath. Although I could -- for a really long time -- because of all the goddamned running.

So... off to buy more shoes. Fucking hell, I'm bored.

A nice lady on my flist posted a meme, and since it's been nearly a year since I updated my LJ (I don't blog well and am generally unproductive fic-wise lately), I figured, "Why not shake the rust off and see if you can still work the damn thing?"

It's an old amphitheater behind a school near my house. We sometimes go there and run a redneck 'tour de stade,' racing up and down until I'm near death (when the weeds aren't too high). It's really peaceful there; sometimes owls and hawks hang around the old stage, hunting wabbits. There's a creek and a swamp less than a quarter mile behind the stage, and the mossy, stinky green beauty of the whole place makes me glad to be alive. It's where I daydream about going when I'm weary of work - which is almost all the time.
